Writing a wish list is one step ahead of getting closer to the things you wish, so here are some stuff that I REALLY want to buy at some point when I have the extra money to splurge (and space in the house).
- iMac
I guess this one is just almost every designer’s dream to have. I like working with a big screen and powerful machine. Right now, it’s not only about the money, but also I need to wait until I settle in a place for longer-term.
My phone camera (iPhone XS Pro Max) is really good, I’m happy with it and do not feel the need to upgrade so far. Having a stabilizer can help to produce higher quality videos because it keeps the camera steady so that it can reduce unwanted movement. It can also be used for a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
3. Studio photography kit
I have two proper cameras and one of them is really good (used to be my late fiancé’s camera). Photography is one of the things I will pursue, enjoy doing, and can support my main job so that it can be my other money-making skill. At this time, my photography skill is still very basic but I do have the eyes for photography. I want to practice more taking photos of people and products and mastering the lighting so that the results look more sleek and high quality.
I had wanted to learn pole dancing since along time ago but it’s been only possible recently and I really love it!! It’s the art of elegance and strength. I can see myself doing it for along time, this is my kind of workout, to perform in a club at least once in my life is actually one of my bucket lists. I want to be able to practice more and regularly without having to go to a studio all the time. It’s not cheap (around USD 1000), but actually having a pole at home is actually cheaper than going to a studio in the end. I need to wait until I settle more permanently so that I don’t spend more money on the shipping.
5. Pole dance mat
Pole dance can be an expensive hobby to start; the classes, poles, clothes as well as the mat so that I don’t hit the floor directly when I land on my knees or fall. The mat itself is around USD 90.
6. Chaya Melrose Pastel Ombre Roller Skates
Another thing that I just tried this year is roller skating and I’ve caught the skating bug already! It’s always been one of my childhood dreams and also as another way to cope with the passing of my fiancé. I need something that is not related to pleasing other people, I used to do my comedy to heal but in comedy, there are too many people and aspects I have to consider, that’s why I chose roller skating. I don’t have a high expectation and goals, but being able to do tricks and dance on them would be nice. The ones that I bought were Impala Pink Tartan, which is nice for beginner and not too expensive. However, the quality and wheel grip are not as good as Chaya’s ones. Chaya is a more expensive brand but at that time they don’t have these in stock.
As a DIY lover, having a laser printing is a dream! I want to be able to sell stickers, planners and other designs that I make.
8. Fujifilm Instax Mini Photo Printer
I love polaroid photo! I actually have two polaroid cameras that I got as gifts. But the picture quality of analog polaroid camera is not as good as phone cameras, so it would be nice if I can comfortably and easily print photos from my phone.
9. 12” iPad Pro
Any designer/ illustrator can’t get enough of iPad Pro, we just want more and more! The one that I have is a 10.5’ one and I want a bigger screen and bigger RAM so that I can do more things with it, like animation.
10. Business mentorship
There are some online courses that I really want to purchase but at the moment I don’t have the financial capacity nor the time to dedicate. At some point, I will hire a design business coach to scale up my business.
